In 2016 Debbie trained as a Canine Massage Therapist to add to her knowledge and skills, passing her Diploma course with Distinction.

Massage therapy has many benefits – it can be used to rehabilitate dogs after injury or surgery; restore mobility & relieve stiffness and discomfort. It brings fresh blood and nutrients to the affected area and removes toxins.

It is great for dogs with orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia.

Massage can:.

  • Relieve stiffness & discomfort
  • Increase range of motion
  • Improve mobility
  • Improve and increase circulation
  • Improve muscle tone & mass
  • Prevent & treat adhesions

We recommend a massage session prior to starting a course of hydrotherapy to help your dog's muscles work in the correct way in the pool. A pre-course massage will help your dog get more from their hydrotherapy sessions.

Veterinary permission must be obtained before any massage therapy is carried out.

"I've been taking my Labrador Darcey to Debbie for Hydrotherapy for nearly 10 years. When she developed arthritis in her elbows, it was suggested by my vet that regular massage alongside Hydro would definitely be of benefit to her.

The knock on effects of her arthritis means the muscles in her back, shoulders and hips become sore and tense and cause her to look 'hunched'. Her regular visits to Debbie are quite literally a life saver. It keeps her mobile and unlocks all her knots, giving her a real spring in her albeit, slightly wobbly step! On top of all this, she absolutely loves her sessions. As soon as she knows where she's going, her tail starts wagging, she rushes in the door, lays on the mat and starts drooling, I'm sure she'd stay there all day if she could!

I can't recommend Debbie and her massage therapy enough. It means my dog has a better quality and a happier life."
